We aim to breed Labradors that have;
* Excellent temperament's; so that they are a joy to be with and make fantastic family pets & companions.
* The quality and conformation: they are true to type,
and pleasing to look at. Although they are not bred purely for showing,
they are still able to show. Our own home bred Wilarklodge Foxy Lady won
the Best Labrador Bitch (GK) class in Crufts 2008.
* Fit strong healthy puppies;
they will have been carefully & lovingly reared with with the
utmost of care. They will have been fed, exercised
& socialised with great care & consideration paid to
the needs of a growing young puppy, with your continued correct care
hopefully puppy will grow in to a healthy young dog and be able to
stand up to the demands that a hard day's play/work will bring.
If this is your first puppy if you require, we will be more than
happy to give you any support and advice where we can.
* Quality proven bloodlines;
we
carefully select our dogs to suit our bitches. We only use dogs &
bitches that have a proven pedigree. All our
pedigrees will include dogs & bitches that have competed & won up to and
including International level, be it showing or
working. In showing amongst other many qualities the judge will also
be looking for; the correct conformation, movement, manners, excellent
temperament and be well behaved. For work & field trails, again they
must have basically the correct conformation, obedience, excellent stamina and
fitness, excellent temperament, trainability, soft mouth, good nose, and
more. These will all be tested to the highest level by judges that have
years of experience and are experts in what they judge.
* Health tested parents; we only breed from parents that have low hip
scores, low elbow score where tested, clear eye
test, and dogs that are DNA tested clear from PRA & CNM (where
tested).
* Trainable temperament;
We aim to breed dogs that are easy to train be it for
working out on a shoot, a family
pet, or if you want to have fun at obedience and agility etc Our
puppies have also gone to be trained as "care dogs"
* Equally suited & happy; to be in your home sleeping by your feet & keeping
you company or out on the shooting field doing a day's
work.
A good dog is a pleasure to be with and pleasing to look at.
Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme.
In order to give our puppies the best possible start and to reassure
you that we have done everything that we feel we can to help our
puppies we joined the Kennel Club Accredited Breeders Scheme. The
aim of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeders Scheme is to provide a
framework to encourage the breeding of healthy well-adjusted puppies.
It lays down a series of requirements that the breeders must follow in
order to participate in the scheme

Health Test & Dog Selection
Before we breed form our girl’s we
make sure that they have been hip & eye tested, we also only use
well bred dog’s that have hip & eye tested,
and elbows where tested, some dogs /
bitches have
also been DNA tested clear from CNM & PRA.
We are aiming to CNM and PRA test our stud dogs in due
course. The dogs that we use include
bloodlines that are very well
trained & are successfully competing to a high level in Field
Trials. The reason that we choose this type of dog to sire our
puppies is that it we know our bitches are happy and very healthy with
excellent temperaments and are although they don’t get out to
work as much as we would like due to our other commitments we know our
girls are very trainable. Where possible we use our own dogs, but
if for some reason (e.g. ours are to young or closely related to a
certain bitch) we choose to use a stud dog from away we might not
know him on a personal basis. Obviously the dog plays a huge part in
the
health, temperament & conformation of the puppy. We carefully
select the dog to suit the type of bitches that we have. For the
dogs to be regularly working and possibly competing we feel that they
must be fit, healthy & strong and have excellent trainable
temperaments to stand up to the demands that regular work will put
their way and also the expert opinion of the judges while in
competition.
