We purchased Kess in December 2001. Her bloodlines go back to Drakeshead and Sandylands and include quite a few winners in both field trialling and showing.
The breed we decided that would suit us the best was a Labrador
Retriever, after a while we rang an advert that was in our local
paper. We went down to the breeder when the litter was only a few
weeks old and at the time of viewing we weren’t bothered if we
had a dog of a bitch, but the temperament was of most importance to us.
We looked at all of the litter but as they say, this beautiful black
bitch chose us! The decision was made and a deposit was left and
went back to collect her just in time for Christmas of that year.
As mentioned above her first and foremost job is as a family pet,
living in the house with us. When time allows she goes out
working which includes rough shooting and beating. Due to our
other commitments she has only had a very limited amount of training.
She has a very willing & trainable temperament and unfortunately
for Kess she hasn’t had the opportunity to fulfil her full
potential as a working dog.
In August of 2004 she had her only litter of puppies. She had 10
in all and unfortunately number 10 was still born. Kess reared
her 9 children without any problems and did them all very well.
They went as pets, show and working dogs. We kept 3 back, a black
bitch Wilarklodge Black Velvet (Tia); a black dog, Wilarklodge Black Jack (Jake); and a yellow bitch, Wilarklodge Foxylady (Foxy).

We purchased Hercwood Aisla of Wilarklodge, Kess, in December 2001. Kess is a beutiful quality bitch with bloodlines to match, going back to Drakeshead and Sandylands including quite a few winners in both field trialling and showing. On her mothers side she goes back to SH CH Keysun Krispin of Bondella , SH CH; Sandylands Sonnet of Konoboly and CH Sandylands Mark. On Kess's fathers side she has Lakedown Hopper, FTCH; Birdbrook Arrow of Craigfeling, FTCH; Glenbriar Solo are just a few of her pedigree.
